Upcoming Professional Workshops
October 2025: When is Mindfulness too Much of a Good Thing? Guidelines for Trauma Survivors-Virtual
The mindfulness revolution that began in the 1970s has had a major impact on the psychotherapy field. While this has been helpful in some respects. Trauma survivors often find that mindfulness practices are not accessible or leave them feeling more symptomatic. This workshop will review the history of mindfulness in psychotherapy and highlight the benefits and potential adverse effects for Trauma patients. Through a unique blend of poetry, case presentation and experiential demonstrations, Kathy will offer an integration of meditative practices that include parts work from IFS (Internal Family Systems) and meditation practices that target attachment wounds. These approaches offer a methodology that brings healing to trauma survivors integrating the benefits of mindfulness with a strengths -based approach to support Trauma Informed care. This class will equip clinicians with techniques to build and guide trauma-informed meditation with individuals and groups.
*Should a class be full, please reach out via email with the name of the course that you are interested in and I will add you to the wait list.
